Doctors
Dr N J Muttucumaru
Dr Muttucumaru the owner and clinical lead for the organisation, qualified as a Doctor in 1985 at The University of Leicester.
He became a GP in 1993 and in 2009 was successful in his bid to provide the primary care needs for the Buckshaw Village development and soon afterwards opened a brand new surgery.
Dr Muttucumaru has a wide range of interests, and is passionate in his desire to offer community based services for patients from the surgery.
He also provides an innovative continuity of care model for patients located within the Oakbridge Retirement Village complex, specifically tailored to meet the needs of dementia patients and for long term rehabilitation patients.
Dr Kapil Sharma
Dr Sharma has been a GP since 2008. He started his medical career at St Andrews and Manchester and worked locally in Chorley General Hospital up until 2004.
He then trained as a GP at St Albans/Hemel and Watford.
He moved to Buckshaw to be closer to his extended family.
His areas of medical interest include diabetes and joint injections/musculoskeletal medicine.
Dr Sharma can often be found working Monday, Wednesday and Friday at CMC.
He works on the walk in clinic in the morning and offers pre-bookable appointments in the afternoon.
Dr Sharma works from Buckshaw Village on a Tuesday and Thursday offering pre bookable appointments.
Dr Omar Al-Falahi
Dr Al-Falahi is based at Buckshaw Village Surgery on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays,
He graduated from medical school in 2011 and worked in Iraq, Oman and the USA before starting working for the NHS in January 2019.
Dr Al-Falahi's first UK clinical experience was in internal medicine at East Surrey Hospital. His previous clinical experience was mainly in emergency medicine.
He started his GP speciality training in August 2019 in east Lancashire and completed his training in August 2022. He has a particular interest in rheumatology.
Dr Ronald Kato
Dr Kato qualfied from St Andrews and Manchester Medical School in 2008.
He worked in various posts including A&E, paediatrics, psychiatry and obstetrics and also gynaecology. completing his GP training in 2013.
Prior to joining NM Health Innovation, he worked as a GP in Huyton, Whiston and Southport.
He works full time at Croston Medical Centre and has special interests in medical education and women's health.
Dr Kato is also a qualified Medical Examiner.
Dr Mohamad Nadzam
Dr Nadzam graduated from medical school in 2009 and did foundation training and general medicine training in Preston and Chorley afterwards.
He completed his GP training in Wigan. His special interests are dermatology and women's health.
Dr Sushma Kumari
Dr Kumari has re-trained to be a GP to work at primary care level and contribute to the system with her surgical skills and keen interest in cancer diagnosis and care. She qualified as a GP in September 2022.
As a part of her training, she has worked in Royal Preston hospital and various GP surgeries in Central and West Lancashire.
Dr Kumari qualified as a Medical Doctor in 2008 from a highly reputed medical college in New Delhi, India.
She has experience working as a junior doctor in Accident and emergency and paediatrics.
She then moved on to qualify as a General surgeon with double Masters in General surgery and qualified postgraduate diploma exams to be a Member of Royal College of Surgeons ( MRCS, London).
She has trained and worked as a Senior Clinical Fellow at the Christie NHS Trust, Manchester.
This included training in open, laparoscopic and robotic cancer surgery involving gynaecological, anal, bowel and peritoneal cancers. This was followed by her stint as a Surgical Registrar in Stockport NHS Foundation Trust .
She is currently working three days a week: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at Buckshaw Village surgery.
Dr Kumari has recently started doing Minor surgery sessions at BVS on Thursday morning once a month. This would cover a variety of lumps and bumps that can be managed under local anaesthesia in a primary care setting.
Dr George Maduabuchi
Dr Maduabuchi worked at a family practice in Gillingham from 2014 and is presently a salaried GP doing eight sessions a week, one of these sessions being taken up with minor surgery.
He also an interest in the practice of the detection and management of patients with atrial fibrillation and has run screening exercises during our flu vaccination clinics.
During training, Dr Maduabuchi did rotations in A&E, medicine, psychiatry and pediatrics with two ITP rotations, one on O&G and one in dermatology.
He has also worked in paediatrics at Darent Valley Hospital, North Tyneside General Hospital and James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough and the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
He has been surgianl house officer at Aberdeen Royal Informary and has also worked in Niger and Nigeria where he studied at the College of Medicine at the University of Nigeria.

Healthcare Assistants
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as blood pressure measurement, diabetic foot checks and new patient screening. Our healthcare assistants also assist doctors in personal examinations where a chaperone may be required.

Medicine Management
Medicines Management provides specialist support to the clinical team, offering advice and guidance on suitable medication or alternative medication, as well as ensuring the practice is prescribing in line with current guidance from NICE, the CCG and NHSE.

Administration
Administrative staff provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as requesting repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries.
