Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of developments at Adlington and Croston Medical Centres, Buckshaw Surgery, our Eaves Lane, Chorley site and our surgery sites at Lostock Hall. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.
Covid Booster and Annual Flu Injections - Update
We are continuing with our annual flu vaccination and autumn Covid Booster programmes and we are now holding extra clinics at our various surgery sites.
The next one of these is tomorrow, Friday, October 27 at The Village Surgery, Lostock Hall, which will run from 10am to 1pm.
Patients at any of our surgery sites can call to book an appointment slot at this clinic and we are also accepting walk-ins so please let anyone you know they are welcome to attend.
Our walk-in vaccination hub which is dispensing both jabs is continuing to operate as normal.
It’s located on Wigan Road, Euxton PR7 6JW, next door to Rowlands Pharmacy and opposite the Bay Horse pub.
Opening hours are 9am to 5pm Wednesday to Friday every week. Closed for lunch 1-2pm.
However, the Saturday walk-in clinics at Buckshaw Surgery will be discontinued from this week. The clinic is open for the final time this Saturday, October 28, hours 9am-Noon and 2pm-5pm.
We are also holding a children’s nasal flu drop clinic at Buckshaw Surgery this Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 5pm which is open to any 2-4 year olds.
Please note you must be over 18 for the Covid jab and over 65 to be eligible for the flu jab.
Road Closure – Croston
Please note the road closure close to Croston Medical Centre has now ended and access is as normal. Thank you for your patience understanding while the diversions were in place.
NHS App/Patient Access/MyGP
You may not be aware but people over the age of 16 can now access their GP health record on the NHS App and nhs.uk website or via Patient access or MyGP.
This means you can access consultation notes, letters and test results quickly and easily and avoid having to call or visit the surgery.
You can find out more details by following these links:
https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/
https://www.patientaccess.com/

You can ask for guidance at our reception desk next time you visit one of our surgeries.
And please don’t worry if you do not want to use the app. You can still access all the info in the existing way by contacting us.
Chorley Homeless Group
The weather is getting colder and The Chorley Homeless Group have issued an urgent appeal for sleeping bags for their service users.
If you can help, please drop them off at any or our surgeries during opening hours.
We are also continuing to accept donations for The Chorley Support for Ukraine Group’s ‘Christmas Shoebox’ appeal, and you can make up a parcel for any of the different categories ie Baby, Child, Teenager, Man, Woman or Soldier.
In addition, we are also continuing to accept donation of toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, non-perishable foods, tins of pet food and clean clothing for both appeals.
