Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of developments at Adlington and Croston Medical Centres, Buckshaw Surgery, our Eaves Lane, Chorley site and our surgery sites at Lostock Hall. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.
Covid Booster and Annual Flu Injections - Update
We are pressing ahead with our annual flu vaccination and autumn Covid Booster programmes and we are now holding extra clinics at our various surgery sites.
The next one of these is tomorrow, Friday, October 20 at Adlington Medical Centre and a further flu jab clinic will take place next Thursday morning, October 26 at our Eaves Lane, Chorley site. Both clinics will run from 10am to 1pm.
Patients at any of our surgery sites can call to book an appointment slot at these clinics and we are also accepting walk-ins so please let anyone you know in the Adlington or Eaves Lane area that they are welcome to attend.
Our walk-in vaccination hub which is dispensing both jabs is continuing to operate as normal.
It’s located on Wigan Road, Euxton PR7 6JW, next door to Rowlands Pharmacy and opposite the Bay Horse pub.
Opening hours are 9am to 5pm Wednesday to Friday every week. Closed for lunch 1-2pm.
The Saturday walk-in clinics at Buckshaw Surgery are also continuing with opening times are 9am-Noon and 2pm-5pm.
Please note you must be over 18 for the Covid jab and over 65 to be eligible for the flu jab.
Road Closure – Croston
Please could Croston Medical Centre patients and other visitors to the surgery note that due to a nearby road closure, a diversion is in place and you may experience delays.
Moor Road is closed due to roadworks at the junction with The Orchard so your route to the surgery may change.
Please follow the diversion signs and allow extra time for your journey to ensure you make it on time for your appointment.
The closure is expected to last all week and we will try to advise via our website when the road reopens.
Blister Pack Recycling
Supermarket group Aldi have partnered with Terracycle and can now recycle all patients medicine blister packs free of charge.
All you have to do to join the scheme is go the Aldi website and follow the instructions to create a TerraCycle account and join the Aldi Blister Pack Envelope Recycling Programme.
The system will allow you to download your prepaid shipping label and you then just stick it on an envelope containing your used blister packs and pop it in your nearest postbox.
NHS App
You may not be aware but people over the age of 16 can now access their GP health record on the NHS App and nhs.uk website.
This means you can access consultation notes, letters and test results quickly and easily and avoid having to call or visit the surgery.
You can find out more details by following this link https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/ or by asking at our reception desk next time you visit one of our surgeries.
And please don’t worry if you do not want to use the app. You can still access all the info in the existing way by contacting us.
