Welcome to the latest of our weekly newsletters. We regard it as a priority that all our patients are kept fully informed of developments at Adlington and Croston Medical Centres, Buckshaw Surgery, our Eaves Lane, Chorley site and our surgery sites at Lostock Hall. We hope these regular updates will continue to prove useful.
Covid Booster and Annual Flu Injections
Our annual flu vaccination programme is continuing as well as our Autumn Covid Booster initiative and we are delighted with the take up rate so far..
Our walk-in site which is now dispensing both jabs is located on Wigan Road, Euxton PR7 6JW, next door to Rowlands Pharmacy and opposite the Bay Horse pub.
Opening hours are 9am to 5pm Wednesday to Friday every week. Closed for lunch 1-2pm.
We are also holding walk-in clinics for both jabs every Saturday at Buckshaw Surgery when opening times are 9am-Noon and 2pm-5pm.
You do not have to be a patient at one of our surgeries to attend the walk-in clinics but you must be over 18 for the Covid jab and over 65 to be eligible for the flu jab.
Please be advised that it is generally quieter for walk-ins after 3pm so if you can make it at this time, you should be attended to quickly.
Our own patients in priority categories have been sent text messages inviting them to book a specified time for one or both of their jabs. Pre-bookings must be made online via the link to the National Booking System. Please call 119 if you have any queries.
Ukraine and Homeless Appeals
The Chorley Support for Ukraine Group’s ‘Christmas Shoebox’ appeal is now in operation and if you want to make up a parcel for any of the different categories ie Baby, Child, Teenager, Man, Woman or Soldier, you can drop them off at any of our surgeries.
The group are also accepting empty shoeboxes which they can then fill.
In addition, we are also continuing to accept donation of the usual items ie toiletries, sanitary products, baby items, non-perishable foods, tins of pet food and clean clothing, for both the Ukraine appeal and the Chorley Homeless Group.
Please mark your bags accordingly if you’ve a preference for which appeal they go to.
Community Skin Diagnostic Hub
Please be advised that Buckshaw Village Surgery is now our sole Community Skin Diagnostic Hub and all our patients using the service will now be directed here.
Patients are being referred to this service following an initial triage contact with their GP.
The service will then ensure skin lesions are assessed using Teledermatology to ascertain the nature of the condition and to identify any potential skin cancer, and all appointments will take place here at Buckshaw.
Should you have any queries, please contact us and we will be happy to assist in any way possible.
Opening Times
We advised all patients some time ago of the new opening times at all our surgeries but we are still seeing frequent instances of patients trying to access the sites when they are closed.
We would therefore remind patients that our opening times for all sites are now as follows:
Monday to Friday
Phone lines open 8am-6.30pm and open through lunch.
Doors open 8.30am. Closed for lunch 1pm-2pm. Doors close 6pm.
Saturdays: Closed except for pre-booked appointments. Sundays: Closed.
